Traditionally promotional marketing has been all of the competitions, all of the giveaways, all of the point of sale (POS) signage for products.
However, the internet, traditionally the domain of the digital agencies offers a huge range of opportunities to promotional marketers.
This just shows that while way back when there used to be very strict divisions between types of agency and between above and below the line (see Zoe's post on Accelerate Grads 06), now as a result of the internet the lines are so blurred that it shouldn't matter what you call yourselves, you should be open to ideas from all over the place.
An idea is an idea, no matter where it comes from.
